Dreaming of a Green Christmas: Eco Natural Soap Giveaway! {CLOSED}

11/14/2011

Christmas Giveaway Tree 4 I’m excited to be participating in the Dreaming of a Green Christmas Giveaway Bash this week along with several other green bloggers.  We’ll be giving you the opportunity to win green Christmas gifts for your family, friends, or yourself!  Be sure to check out the other great giveaways at the end of this post.

I’m so happy to be able to tell you about Eco Natural Soap today! I discovered their products a little over a year ago. When I went to their website and read their about page, I could tell that they are just as passionate about using all natural ingredients as I am. I could also tell that they were committed to researching all of the different ingredients they use, which means a lot to me because I also do that. (Saves me some time!) This is a family business that was started by Alan and Alicia Hicks after they started researching conventional ingredients in the products they used around their home and on their bodies. The more they researched, the more they realized that there’s some pretty crazy stuff in conventional products. Eco Natural Soap was started out of a desire to provide products that truly are natural and are not harmful to your skin or to the environment.

Review of their Products

Christmas Gift Set.jpgEco Natural Soap graciously sent me one of their Christmas Gift Sets (in the Peppermint Paradise scent) to review. I’ll also mention the other products I’ve bought from them earlier this year in my review.

Bath and Body Soap

I tried the peppermint soap and it smells so good! It’s a very strong peppermint scent, which I like. It makes my skin all tingly and is very refreshing. I like using the peppermint soap in the morning because it helps me wake up. (I need all the help I can get!) It lathers well and wasn’t drying to my skin. I’ve also tried their pumpkin spice bar and liked it too.

Exotic Butters Luxury Skin Balm

This balm is softer than a hard lotion bar, but not its quite a cream. It goes on easily (and much faster than a hard lotion bar) and doesn’t leave my skin greasy. It also smells really good. All of the products I tried are very nicely scented—not too much scent, but enough that I can still smell it for a while after I put it on.  I tried the peppermint scent (since I got the peppermint gift set), but it comes in lots of other different scents.

soap balm and lotionLip Balm

I fell in love with this lip balm as soon as I used it! It goes on a little bit thicker than the other balms I’ve used before, so it actually coated my lips and stayed on like it was supposed to. Its very moisturizing and I’ll be using this all winter. I think the price is reasonable too. I’ve seen lip balm cost a lot more than this at my local big box store. I’m going to need to buy more because my kids and husband keep stealing this and I don’t like sharing my lip balm. (Selfish, I know. ) :)

Pet Soap

soap_petI bought the Pet Shampoo and Coat Conditioner Soap at the end of last year to use on my dog Jack for his very sensitive skin. It worked really well and helped his skin to feel better. Its not as drying as the “normal” pet shampoos. I liked that I didn’t have to worry about putting crazy chemicals on his body (some of which he’s reacted to very poorly in the past) and it smells way better than the chemical filled options. Funny story about the pet soap: When my parents visited earlier this year, I had forgotten to take this soap out of the shower after giving the dog his bath. My mom kept raving about how good our soap smelled and I kept thinking that was curious because at the time I was using an unscented bar for myself. I finally figured out that she’d been using the dog’s soap! We teased her all week about how at least we knew she didn’t have fleas. :) I asked Eco Natural Soap if they had any plans to make a human counterpart to the pet soap, and unfortunately they don’t at this time. They said they’d contact me if they ever decide to start making one so I can buy some for mom. (Just so you know, I did ask her permission to share this story. Thanks, mom!)

Cuticle and Nail Relief Balm

The Cuticle and Nail Relief Balm is another product that I love. My hands are always a mess in the wintertime from the combination of the dry heat in our home and more frequent hand washing. (Trying to keep those germs away!) My cuticles and nails are looking way better now after using over the past few days. I like to use this during church and Bible study. I can pay attention better if I have something to do with my hands, so this is a good (and non-distracting option) for that.

Other Things I Like About the Company

They use minimal packaging and everything is either recyclable or has been recycled by them. This is from their About Page, “We strive to use as much 100% recycled packing and packaging products as we can procure. If not, then we try to use packaging that can be reused or recycled. I re-use all the packaging that I receive in orders shipped to me, like; bubble wrap and peanuts. We know when the product works, you will buy more.” Sounds good to me!

Would You Like to Win Some of Their Products? {Giveaway is closed now.)

Eco Natural Soap is offering for the winner of the giveaway to pick any 3 of their products as the prize, approximately $30 value, depending on which products you select.
